Alternative Power Systems, Inc. is a full service, licensed renewable energy contractor.
Our company is committed to providing practical alternatives to conventional energy
consumption. We serve our customers in two ways; first we design, sell, install and
service renewable energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV), solar thermal (hot
water), wind generators, hydro and backup or standby generators for residential and
commercial in both grid-tied and off-grid situations. In addition, we also maintain
a wide inventory of renewable energy products to supply retail customers. We know
that there are other sources for products and services. Why choose Alternative Power
Systems, Inc.? The short answer is that we are the region’s acknowledged subject
matter experts on all things dealing with renewable energy.
Here’s the longer answer:
First - Our crews are knowledgeable, experienced professionals. Our company is a
fully licensed and insured contractor. All our work meets local and state codes and
fully complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC). We can provide expert advice
on the full spectrum of renewable energy and passive energy efficiency, including
water pumping and delivery systems, batteries, generators, photovoltaic modules,
wind and hydro turbines, solar gain, inverters and more. We offer free consultations
with a skilled craftsman that can answer your questions and concerns allowing you
to make an informed decision.
Second - We carry a full line of renewable energy products. These products are on-hand
so you can compare and get a true feel of the item. The prices are competitive and
we have knowledgeable sales experts that can answer your questions. We only sell
top quality, time tested components that are UL listed and fully NEC compliant. The
adage “you get what you pay for” is especially true for electronic components.
Third - Alternative Power Systems, Inc. is the only designer and installer in our
area of Southern Utah certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners.
NABCEP provides a set of national standards for renewable energy leaders including
education, experience, ethics and skills. Other contractors might have a license,
but using a general contractor is like letting your family doctor do open heart surgery,
always use the expert. Check out their website at www.nabcep.org.
Fourth - We are committed to making every customer a repeat customer. Your satisfaction
is our goal. Our responsibility is to provide you a product that functions flawlessly
over its entire life cycle and makes you a proud owner, so proud that you will tell
your friends about us.
Fifth - Our bids are hard, they are not estimates. The amount we bid is the amount
you pay. There are no hidden, variable or dependent charges. We are confident in
our designers ability and therefore standby our prices.
Sixth - We can help you increase the value of your home. Alternative Power Systems,
Inc. expertise in renewable energy design, coupled with its unmatched record of field
experience, makes them uniquely qualified to integrate renewable energy systems in
recreational, residential and commercial projects.
Seventh - We are licensed and insured in Utah to do Solar Thermal and Photovoltaic
installations. And licensed and insured in Nevada for Photovoltaic installations.
We are an Energy Star Partner, which allows us to leverage the knowledge and experience
of that organization.
We work closely with you, your builder and architect to aesthetically integrate renewable
energy solutions while maintaining the property’s desired ambience. It is important
for us to begin working with you as early as possible. Designing an energy efficient
house is just as important as designing a reliable energy system. Dollar for dollar,
it is five times more effective to invest in conservation and efficiency than energy
production.
While the systems we design are capable of handling just about any domestic load
requirement, it is not a perpetual source of endless energy. All energy systems have
their limits (even grid power). With this in mind, choosing the right appliances,
HVAC, R-value and water delivery system is crucial. When it is time to select these,
we would be happy to work with you and it will make all the difference.
Local, State and Federal rebates and tax credits can make the installation even more
affordable. Installing a photovoltaic system will also boost your property value;
national appraisers estimate that a photovoltaic system will increase the selling
price of a home up to 20 times the annual energy savings of that system.
